The Flask Club began with a single question : what if one small daily habit could help a planet choking on plastic? The Answer turned into a movement.
Every year, India discards billions of plastic bottles. Most end up in landfills, waterways, and soil — breaking into microplastics that enter the food chain, the air, and ultimately our bodies. The scale of the problem is staggering. The solution, it turns out, is elegantly simple.
Dr. Urvashi Mittal social entrepreneur, and passionate environmentalist known as The flask lady— Led the change instead of waiting for it. She picked up a steel flask, gathered a group of like-minded women in Delhi, and started asking others to do the same. What happened next surprised even her.
Within months, the Flask Club community had grown into a vibrant network of eco-conscious individuals across India, running campaigns, hosting events, pinning new members, and inspiring families, offices, and schools to ditch single-use plastic for good.
Today, with many committed volunteers and several eco campaigns completed. The Flask Club / The Flask Ladies is proof that transformation doesn't require grand gestures. It requires consistent, community-driven action — one sip at a time.
Our Problem

How a gathering became
a Revolution
The launch of The Flask Club / Ladies was unlike any ordinary event. Dr. Urvashi Mittal didn't open with a PowerPoint presentation or a policy brief. She opened with an animated film — one she had commissioned to explain, in vivid, accessible storytelling, why the world's plastic addiction had become an emergency that required personal action. Then came an original music video, with lyrics written by Dr. Mittal herself, freshly composed in a studio, featuring the very first batch of Co-Flask Ladies performing on the same song Chal Chal Chal Kar Kar Kar the theme song of the flask club . The energy in the room shifted — from awareness to commitment.
THE VISION
Dr. Urvashi Mittal conceives the initiativeAlarmed by India's mounting plastic crisis, Dr. Urvashi Mittal begins developing a community-based model that puts daily habit change — not just awareness — at the centre.
THE LAUNCH
The Flask Club officially founded in DelhiIn a landmark event attended by prominent civic figures, an original animated film and music video are premiered, and the first Co-Flask Ladies are pinned in a public oath ceremony.
THE EXPANSION
Young Flask Ladies & The Flask Club launchResponding to demand from younger volunteer and men who wanted to join, two new wings open: and very soon the Flask Club became the main umbrella for The Flask Club (open to all, any age) and the Young Flask Ladies Club (women up to 35).
THE COMPAIGNS
Eco drives across DelhiCommunity campaigns spread into corporate offices, schools, RWAs, and public spaces — collecting plastic for recycling, distributing steel flasks, and inspiring thousands of pledge-takers.

We are reclaiming its purpose — using it thoughtfully, reducing it deliberately, and replacing it wherever we can with something that lasts. A steel flask is not just a container. It is a daily declaration of the world you want to live in.
